But you also need to be aware that there are some cheap and nasty brands on the market that you should avoid. They are generally sold in large hardware stores, online stores and ebay. If you see an air conditioner that costs less than it does to install it, then don't buy it.
The most common problem with cheap units is the compressor breaking down. Once that happens, you are better off replacing the whole unit. This means you not only have to buy a new
air conditioner, but you have to outlay more money to have it installed again.
